Report: Sheffield Wednesday interested in Jordan Rhodes

Jordan Rhodes of Blackburn Rovers

Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough are reportedly interested in Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes.

Sheffield Wednesday are interested in signing Jordan Rhodes from Blackburn Rovers in the January transfer window, according to Sky Sports.

It has been reported that Wednesday are one of two Championship clubs interested in the striker. Blackburn value the 25-year-old former Huddersfield Town man at £12 million, according to the report.

Rhodes has been on the books of Blackburn since 2012 and has established himself as one of the better strikers in the Championship.

The Scotland international scored 21 goals and created 38 chances in 45 league appearances last season. So far this campaign, the former Ipswich Town striker has scored nine goals and created 14 chances in 24 Championship matches.

While Sky Sports do not mention the second club interested in Rhodes, it could be Middlesbrough. Last month, The Sun credited Boro with an interest in the Scottish striker (click here to read more).

Blackburn are 18th in the Championship table at the moment with 29 points from 26 matches, just five points above the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Wednesday currently find themselves sixth in the standings with 45 points from 27 games.
