According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic are targeting a move for Molde forward Mohamed Elyounoussi after landing defender Erik Sviatchenko.
The Bhoys made their first January signing on Sunday afternoon, luring Danish international centre back Sviatchenko from Midtjylland in a deal which could cost £1.5m, according to BBC Sport.
Deila still needs new arrivals this month though, and fans will want another striker after the limited impact from summer signing Nadir Ciftci.
Now, The Scottish Sun report that Deila has set his sights on his fellow Norwegian, Molde forward Mohamed Elyounoussi, who may be familiar to some Celtic fans.
The 21-year-old forward scored in both of Molde's victories over Celtic in the Europa League, and is one of the hottest up-and-coming stars in Norwegian football having found the net on a regular basis for Molde.
With 36 goals in 77 games for Molde, Elyounoussi has established himself as something of a goal machine in Norway, and despite being born in Norway, he has now picked up three caps for Norway.
The report suggests that Deila admires Elyounoussi and now wants to bring him to Celtic Park, with Molde possibly asking for a fee in the region of £2m.
Capable of playing out wide or up front, Elyounoussi has pace as well as plenty of skill on the ball, and whilst he may be a gamble at £2m having never played outside of Norway, Deila will know the market in his homeland, and banking on Elyounoussi's potential could end up being a smart move for the Bhoys.
