Liverpool have turned down Swansea City’s approach for Joe Allen, according to The Sun.
The British tabloid has claimed that Swansea want to sign the midfielder in the January transfer window.
However, claims the report, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp “will not consider letting Allen leave until the summer”.
Allen started his professional club career at Swansea and moved to Liverpool in the summer of 2012.
Much was expected of the 25-year-old when he arrived at Anfield, but he has not developed as expected.
The Welshman is not guaranteed a place in the Liverpool starting lineup and has been able to make just seven appearances in the Premier League so far this season.
Allen has scored one goal, created three chances, has a pass accuracy of 82% and a shot accuracy of 33%, and has won one header, one dribble and three tackles.
During the 2014-15 campaign, Allen featured in 21 league games, scoring one goal and creating 15 chances in the process.
Liverpool are ninth in the Premier League table at the moment, while Swansea are currently third from bottom in the standings.
