Hull City are reportedly keen to add to their squad in the January transfer window.
The Tigers have been tracking Spittal's progress all season and Hull’s scouts are said to have reported back to Steve Bruce raving about the 20-year-old’s talents.
Spittal has been a key player for Dundee United so far this season and he has scored five times in 24 appearances.
Hull reportedly believe that he has the potential to improve the options in their squad, but they will have to pay out £1 million to sign him.
Dundee United are understood to be desperate to keep hold of their prized youngster and they will not let him go on the cheap.
Hull have already had great success while shopping in Scotland - with Andrew Robertson proving to be a brilliant bargain buy.
If Spittal does join Hull in January, he will feature in Bruce’s side as they aim to be promoted from the Championship. The Tigers are currently in second spot in England’s second tier with a great chance of returning to the top flight.
