The Tottenham full-back has been discussing his Argentine head coach.
Tottenham Hotspur defender Kieran Trippier says substitutes at White Hart Lane are always ready to step in thanks to Mauricio Pochettino's fitness drills in training, according to club's official website.
Indeed, Pochettino is known for putting his teams through their paces and Trippier thinks this allows the whole squad - including fringe players - to step in whenever they are needed, rust free so to speak.
Trippier told the Tottenham site: "We always keep on top of our fitness work in training with the drills we do with the staff so that when we’re called upon, everyone’s fit and available.
"That’s not just me, it’s all the lads who have been on the bench so I’m delighted to get 90 minutes under my belt and now we’re looking forward to the next game against Leicester. Hopefully we’ll get the win there and progress through in the FA Cup. We want to go as far as we can."
Trippier made a slow start to life at Spurs but has been tipped to come good at White Hart Lane by some pundits and supporters. As he says, the 90 minutes will do him good and an in-form Trippier will help Tottenham when it comes to Kyle Walker's enforced absences - as well as keeping the defender on his toes generally.
Pochettino's team selection against Leicester should be interesting, considering the fact the north London side have another important Premier League game at the weekend.
Will the Argentine take some chances? Crystal Palace are badly out of form and fielding the strongest possible XI against Leicester would show his FA Cup intent. But slip-ups in both games are possible, so there's naturally an element of risk.
