Barcelona are supposedly interested in signing John Stones from Everton.

La Liga expert Guillem Balague has confirmed to Sky Sports that Barcelona are interested in signing Everton’s John Stones.

The centre-back is regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in the Premier League and he has the credentials to play at Barcelona.

Stones is comfortable in possession and is more than willing to carry the ball out of defence - making him the perfect fit for the La Liga giants.

And Balague said: "I know Barcelona like John Stones a lot, but they haven't yet decided where they are going to put their money this summer.

"They are looking at other options as well. They want a left-back, they want a centre-back and they perhaps want a central midfielder in the mould of Paul Pogba."

Everton have already fended off interest in Stones from Chelsea, but his consistent excellence has seemingly attracted the attention of clubs across Europe.

The 21-year-old has been a key part of the Toffees’ defence this season, and he forms part of an exciting group of youngsters at Goodison Park.

Everton also have the likes of Ross Barkley, Gerard Deulofeu and Romelu Lukaku in their squad, players who all look to have the potential to play at the very top level.

Stones has made 25 appearances for the Toffees this season, and he has also earned seven full England caps to date.
