Alex Pritchard has been told by Tottenham Hotspur coach Mauricio Pochettino that he is ready to throw him straight into his first-team squad this month - but he could still head out on loan, HITC Sport understands.
However, should he temporarily leave then HITC Sport understands that Spurs would prefer him to remain in the Premier League than return to the Championship.
The England Under-21 star impressed during a season-long stay with Brentford and arrived back at Spurs ready to break through this term but injury to his ankle has sidelined him up until this month.
Now Pritchard is fit again and Spurs are debating among their staff whether they should send him out or not.
The likes of Derby, Middlesbrough, Reading and Brentford – where he spent last season – have all told Tottenham they would take him. But it is the interest from Norwich, Bournemouth and Aston Villa that will hold more sway as Spurs want him to gain top-flight experience.
Pritchard has the talent to become an integral player for Spurs in years to come, but for now it is all about regaining his match fitness and proving he can cut it in the top flight.
