Both Victor Wanyama and James Ward-Prowse have received plenty of criticism lately.
Southampton fans themselves have been far from satisfied with the midfielders' form. When Wanyama isn't getting sent off, he doesn't seem to be doing much else on field. Well, that's been the common view recently, anyway.
That's why Southampton's great week has been very timely indeed. Not only has Charlie Austin signed for the Saints but the South Coast club have excelled on the pitch, too.
A 2-0 win over Watford was followed up by a 3-0 triumph over West Brom on Saturday afternoon. Wanyama subsequently took to Twitter to celebrate.
He also paid tribute to Ward-Prowse, who has similarly received plenty of sick from supporters of late. His two goals against the Baggies served as a reminder of what he can do. JWP himself posted on social media after the win...
So a much healthier Premier League table for Southampton fans, then, as Ronald Koeman's men move into 10th in the standings - just five points off fifth and nine off the top four.
Next up for the Saints is a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United. Can they make it three wins out of three against Koeman's old nemesis Louis van Gaal?
