Wolfsburg director confirms Norwich agreement for defender Timm Klose

Norwich City look set to sign Timm Klose from Wolfsburg.

Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs has confirmed that there is an agreement in place for defender Timm Klose to join Norwich City during the January transfer window, the Mirror reports.

Clarifying the situation with reporters, Allofs says an agreement between the clubs has been struck and as far as he knows the Switzerland international has accepted terms with the Canaries.

“We have largely reached an agreement with Norwich, and so has Timm as far as I know,” Wolfsburg’s sporting director Klaus Allofs explained.

Norwich have been tracking the defender for some time and boss Alex Neil has made both a centre-back and striker his top two transfer priorities this month.

Klose, 27, has made seven Bundesliga starts this term but with the European Championships on the horizon the defender has considered his options and seeks more regular playing time.

Wolfsburg have Dante, Nando and Robin Knoche as fellow centre-backs options, therefore the German side are seemingly happy to sell Klose for the right price.

The report in the Mirror goes on to cite the transfer fee as £8million, while also claiming that his medical is set to go ahead with the Canaries on Monday.

Standing at 6ft 4inch, the experienced centre-back will provide Norwich with more strength at the back as the club look to preserve their Premier League status come the end of the season.
