The 21-year-old doubled his goal tally for the Saints against the hapless Baggies.
James Ward-Prowse starred as Southampton beat West Brom 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. New signing Charlie Austin watched on in the stands but it almost looked as though the Saints won't need him, so convincing were the South Coast club against the Midlands outfit at St Mary's.
Ward-Prowse had only scored two goals for Southampton going into the game - here he scored two in quick succession. The first was a brilliant free-kick and the second a penalty.
The 21-year-old celebrated delightedly (noting that West Brom striker Rickie Lambert had taught him how to take such good free-kicks) and the Southampton fans celebrated with him.
But, on Twitter, there were also a few posts aimed at Ward-Prowse's critics. Indeed, the youngster has been receiving plenty of stick recently, with many Saints fans suggesting he isn't a Premier League player.
Here, a message was sent - and plenty of Southampton supporters got behind their midfielder after a convincing win against West Brom. Here's a selection of their tweets from Saturday... can JWP kick on from here and really prove his worth for the South Coast club?
