Report: Sunderland to launch £9m bid for Swansea City striker Andre Ayew

Sunderland want to sign Swansea City's Andre Ayew in January.

According to a report in the Sun, Sunderland are set to make a £9million offer to Swansea City for Andre Ayew.

The Black Cats have already signed Dame N’Doye to bolster their forward ranks, but Sam Allardyce wants to increase his striking options even further.

Sunderland reportedly believe that Ayew would be a great signing, and they are hopeful of pressing through a deal.

Ayew has been one of Swansea’s key players so far this season, but he is reportedly unsettled with speculation over his future rife.

Ayew is in the dark as to whether Swansea want to keep him, or will let him go.

The 26-year-old has scored seven goals in 20 Premier League matches during his first season in England.

If Ayew did move to Sunderland it would strengthen their squad, while significantly weakening one of their relegation rivals.

Swansea have already lost Jonjo Shelvey to Newcastle United in this transfer window and more could follow in due course
