Napoli are interested in signing Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle United in the January transfer window, according to L’Equipe.

The French publication has claimed that the Italian club want to sign the France international midfielder this month.

According to the report, Newcastle could demand €35 million (£27m) as transfer fee to sell the 26-year-old.

It has also been reported that Sissoko is not willing to leave the Magpies in January as he wants to be part of France’s Euro 2016 squad.

Sissoko has been on the books of Newcastle since 2013 and has a contract until June 2019.

Napoli are one of the biggest clubs in Italy and in the running for the Scudetto this season.

Maurizio Sarri’s side are at the top of the Serie A table at the moment with 44 points from 20 matches, four points clear of second-placed Inter Milan.

The Naples outfit also have a chance of winning the Europa League this campaign. Napoli will face Villarreal in the round of 32.
