Jermaine Jenas is impressed with Newcastle United’s performances against Manchester United and West Ham United in the Premier League.

Jermaine Jenas has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Newcastle United’s win against West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.

Newcastle returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over West Ham at home.

Ayoze Perez put the Magpies in the lead in the sixth minute, and Georginio Wijnaldum added a second on 15 minutes.

Nikica Jelavic halved the deficit for the Hammers four minutes into the second half, but the home team eventually picked up all three points.

Former Newcastle midfielder Jenas was following the game, and he was impressed with the performance of Steve McClaren’s side.

The former Tottenham Hotspur star has claimed that the Magpies will retain their Premier League status for next season, and has also suggested that their display against Manchester United on Tuesday evening was encouraging.

McClaren’s side played out a 3-3 draw with United at St. James’ Park in the Premier League.

Newcastle are 17th in the Premier League table at the moment with 21 points from 22 matches.

The Magpies are two points clear of third-from-bottom Swansea City, who will face Watford at the Liberty Stadium on Monday evening.
