Trevor Sinclair comments on QPR’s promotion chances

Trevor Sinclair does not think that Queens Park Rangers will finish in the top six of the Championship this season.

Trevor Sinclair said on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (January 15) that Queens Park Rangers will not get promoted to the Premier League this season.

“It’s a work in progress, I think,” said the former QPR winger. “QPR fans have to accept that it’s (promotion) not going to happen this year. I don't think it's going to happen this season.”

QPR are 17th in the Championship table at the moment with 31 points from 26 matches.

Rangers are as many as 13 points behind Brighton & Hove Albion, who are currently sixth in the standings and occupy the final playoff spot.

The London side, who got relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season, are 10 points above the relegation zone.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is still looking for his first win as QPR manager, and there is a chance that Rangers could end the season in mid-table.

There is still time for QPR to rescue their season, but for that to happen, they need to put together a run of wins soon.

Rangers will take on relegation-threatened Rotherham United away from home at the AESSEAL New York Stadium in the Championship today.
