The Black Cats are keen on the Romanian leaving the club.
Italian Vito Mannone was on the bench which would seem to signify the end of Costel Pantilimon's Sunderland career.
The giant Romanian has been the club's number one in recent times but it seems that Sam Allardyce is not a fan of the former Manchester City stopper.
Now a report in his Romanian homeland has suggested that Pantilimon has been told he is for sale - and the price that the Black Cats are hoping to retrieve for him
Digi Sport claim that Sunderland are hoping for a fee in the region of €6 million (£4.6 million) for his services.
That would seem a rather hopeful figure.
Pantilimon is a fully fledged international who has bags of Premier League experience but it would be fair to say that he has never impressed enough to command such an elevated price-tag.
Sunderland are surely likely to accept less for the player if the right club makes a move for a player who is now their third-choice stopper.
