According to BBC Sport, Celtic have agreed a £1.5m deal for FC Midtjylland defender Erik Sviatchenko, and he will undergo a medical today.
The Bhoys have struggled defensively this season, as after losing last season's outstanding partnership of Jason Denayer and Virgil van Dijk, summer signings Dedryck Boyata and Jozo Simunovic have yet to hit it off as a central pairing.
Fans have been crying out for reinforcements during his month's transfer window, and especially in defence, with new centre backs still wanted by Bhoys supporters.
Now, they appear to be landing one, as BBC Sport report that a deal has been struck with Midtjylland for the transfer of centre back Erik Sviatchenko.
Sviatchenko, 24, is a four-cap Denmark international, having chosen them over Ukraine, another nation he as eligible for. The 6ft 1in centre back was vital for Midtjylland last season, playing a key role as the stunned Denmark and won the league title for the first time in their history.
Now though, the performances of Sviatchenko - one of the most highly-rated defenders in Denmark - appears to have attracted interest, and a move to Celtic Park is on the verge of completion, according to reports.
It's a positive weekend for Celtic, as after beating Dundee United 4-1 on Friday night, manager Ronny Deila is seemingly poised to make his first January signing.
