Peter Lovenkrands reacts on Twitter to Newcastle and Rangers wins

The former Newcastle and Rangers forward took to Twitter on Saturday afternoon.

Peter Lovenkrands was delighted for former clubs Newcastle United and Rangers after they both picked up wins on Saturday afternoon.

Newcastle beat West Ham United 2-1 at St James' Park to continue a great week for the Tyneside outfit.

On Tuesday night, the Magpies had come back from 2-0 down to draw 3-3 with Manchester United. And Lovenkrands was pleased Steve McClaren's men were able to make it four points out of a possible six on Saturday.

Newcastle still have a long, long way to go, of course, and they have had good weeks already this season - which have usually been followed by very poor ones.

But McClaren's side have also come a long way. Their effort levels are a completely different prospect, while new signings are already making their mark at St James' Park. In terms of the battle against relegation, things are looking far more positive than they were only weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Scottish Championship leaders Rangers beat Livingston 4-1 at Ibrox.

Lovenkrands was pleased with former club Rangers and forward Martyn Waghorn in particular. Is the league title the Gers' to lose?
