The Spanish striker joined the club on loan from Athletic Bilbao this week.
Middlesbrough made a move to sign Kike Sola this week from Athletic Bilbao on loan until the end of the season. The former Osasuna and Levadiakos striker played once for the Spanish Under-21 side in 2008 but have never truly lived up to his potential since then.
Now, at 29-years-old, he will be hoping to shine once again.
Boro are currently flying high at the top of the Championship and will hope that Sola helps them in their pursuit of promotion to the top-flight.
Of course Boro fans are not likely to know much about the Spaniard so Sky Sports' Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has given them the lowdown.
He told Sky Sports earlier this week:
"Kike Sola is a striker that's good in the air but not great with his feet. He's a hard worker but lacks a bit of quality although he makes up for it with graft.
"He's a good finisher, and an old-fashioned number nine if you like. He can help Boro."
Sola did not make his debut for Boro today. He sat on the bench as his new side went down 1-0 losers in surprising fashion against struggling Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
Sola will be hoping to get a chance to help out Boro in the coming weeks but this game seemingly came too soon for him to be thrown in at the deep end.
