Sinclair played with Di Canio at West Ham, and he has explained why he rates French attacking midfielder Payet more than the former Italy international forward.
“He has only done if for a short time, but for me Payet has been amazing,” the former England international winger told talkSPORT. "It’s because he works hard for the team as well. I don’t think Paolo was that selfless in his work-rate off the ball.”
Di Canio is one of the greatest players in West Ham history and played for the London outfit from 1999 to 2003. During his time at the Boleyn Ground, the Italian scored many a memorable goal and enthralled the fans.
The 28-year-old has scored six goals and created 53 chances in 15 league matches for West Ham so far this campaign.
West Ham are doing well at the moment and could end up in the top four of the Premier League this season.
