Amit Bhatia and Trevor Sinclair send messages to departing QPR star

Charlie Austin

Charlie Austin has left Championship side Queens Park Rangers for Premier League outfit Southampton.

Queens Park Rangers vice-chairman Amit Bhatia has taken to social networking site Twitter to wish Charlie Austin the best of luck at Southampton.

Austin has left Championship outfit QPR to move to Premier League side Southampton on a four-and-a-half-year contract.

According to The Guardian, the Saints had to pay QPR a transfer fee of £4 million for the services of the English striker.

Austin was arguably the best player on the books of QPR, and he will be missed by Rangers.

Despite his injury struggles this season, the 26-year-old scored 10 goals and created 17 chances in 16 Championship matches for the London outfit.

It now remains to be seen which player QPR sign in order to replace Austin in the team.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side are struggling in mid-table at the moment, and chances of finishing in the top six of the Championship are slim.

Former QPR winger Trevor Sinclair has urged the club to invest the money they have received from the sale of Austin properly.
