Leeds United head coach Steve Evans has told Sky Sports that Marco Silvestri could play in the Premier League if he keeps on developing.
Silvestri has been on the books of Leeds since 2014 and is one of the best players in the current squad. The 24-year-old Italian is the first-choice goalkeeper at the Whites, and he is a very good player.
Leeds head coach Evans seems to rate the former Chievo prospect highly, and has suggested that he has the potential to play in the Premier League.
“We're delighted with the goalkeeper and if he continues to progress the way he has in the last few months, he'll be another one who'll go and play in the Premier League,” the Scot told Sky Sports about Silvestri.
Silvestri has made mistakes from time to time, but there can be no denial that he is a very good goalkeeper.
The 24-year-old kept 12 clean sheets in 43 Championship appearances last season, making 3.07 saves per game and 2.36 saves per goal on average in the process.
So far this campaign, the Italian has kept five clean sheets in 26 Championship games, making 2.62 saves per game and 2.34 saves per goal on average in the proces.
