Watford are not trying to sign Jerome Sinclair from Liverpool, the Watford Observer reports.
The highly-rated teenager scored his first goal for Liverpool last week, netting in the FA Cup draw with Exeter, but his contract situation at Anfield is up in the air.
His current deal expires at the end of this season, and there have so far been no indications that the Red are trying to tie him down on a longer contract.
This was reportedly the reason that Watford were trying to sign him, knowing that a cut-price deal could be agreed this month for the 19-year-old. They could also attempt to secure Sinclair on a pre-contract, ahead of a free transfer to Vicarage Road in the summer.
However, this is not the case, with the report claiming that the Hornets are not even interested in Sinclair, let alone keen on wrapping up a deal any time soon.
West Brom remain interested in the striker though, looking to bring him back to the club at which he started his career.
