Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal are keen on James Maddison of Coventry.
Tottenham have been scouting James Maddison of Coventry, the Telegraph reports.
David Pleat, chief scout of the North London club, was in the stands on Tuesday when Walsall held Coventry to a 1-1 draw, and it is claimed he was there to watch Rico Henry and Maddison.
It is claimed that Coventry are willing to sanction his departure, but want a deal in which Maddison is loaned back to the club for the rest of this season.
The 19-year-old midfielder has netted two goals and registered three assists in eight games this term, and the Sky Blues don’t want to lose his abilities just yet.
This is similar to the deal that took Dele Alli to White Hart Lane last January, as he remained with MK Dons until the end of the season on loan.
The young midfielder helped the Dons win promotion to the Championship, before linking up with Spurs in the summer, becoming a key player for the title challengers, and winning international honours with England.
There is no indication that Spurs have formalised their interest in Maddison yet, but they are keeping a close eye on his development during this transfer window.
