The Ghanaian has caught the eye in his debut Premier League season.
In the last hour it has been reported by Sky Sports that Sunderland are hoping to sign an Ayew brother, but not the one that would seem to make sense.
Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew would seem to be the obvious option when discussing the pursuit of one of these siblings - however it appears that Sunderland are instead hoping to get their hands on Andre Ayew at Swansea City.
The Ghanaian international has been a revelation in the Premier League this season but the club is in a form of turmoil down at the Liberty Stadium.
Sky Sports report that Sunderland are hoping to take advantage of the inconsistency surrounding the management role at Swansea to swoop in on Ayew.
However Sky Sports is also suggesting that any deal for the player looks highly unlikely as Swansea are not willing to sell the player.
Ayew only joined Swansea in the summer on a free transfer from Marseille and recently scored against Sunderland in a 4-2 defeat for the Welsh side.
That was his seventh goal of an impressive first season in the Premier League so far.
