Tottenham, Sunderland and Norwich were all linked with the young striker.

Norwich City are set to sign Sebastian Haller in a £6.5 million move, as reported by the Daily Mirror, with the 21-year-old due for a medical with the Canaries.

However, both Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland were interested in the striker, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Indeed, the Telegraph suggested all three of Tottenham, Sunderland and Norwich were considering the FC Utrecht forward, although Spurs' interest was not as strong and only went as far as scouting the young striker.

Tottenham were said to have considered Haller as one of a number of attacking targets.

But the Daily Mail suggest they are concentrating more on Fulham's Moussa Dembele. The Black Cats, meanwhile, need any reinforcements they can get in the battle against relegation.

It is Norwich, though, who are said to have won the race for Haller's signature. The Canaries recently sold Lewis Grabban to Bournemouth (the club they signed him from) and need a replacement.

It's unclear whether it came down to a shootout between Sunderland and Norwich but it appears Alex Neil has got his man, leaving Sam Allardyce, as well as Mauricio Pochettino, still in search of a new marksman.
