Hibernian, Dundee United and Leeds United have all been linked with the player.
Leeds United are now directing the majority of their efforts in the hunt for a striker in the direction of Celtic attacker Anthony Stokes, according to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post this week.
The Celtic forward is considered up for grabs at Parkhead after failing to win over Norwegian gaffer Ronny Deila this season in what has been a troublesome campaign for the player.
Teams in Scotland are also keen, with Dundee United having a loan bid for the player accepted yesterday.
However a report in the Irish Times has suggested where he wants to go and how much he will cost.
The report claims that Stokes has rejected Inverness and is not keen on Dundee United.
When it comes between choosing between Leeds United or Hibernian it seems he would prefer to remain in Scotland and head to the Edinburgh club.
The same report however details the difficulties in pulling off such a deal.
Stokes wages at Celtic are said to be in the region of €11k-a-week (approx £8k-a-week) and that may be an amount Hibs are expected to pay the bulk of - as will any team who have been chasing the player this month.
