Rangers have agreed deals with the Accrington Stanley duo, and Andy Halliday has shared his thoughts on their signings with a press conference.
AH: the boys from Accrington are a great acquisition. I watched them a few times last season cos of Kal Naismith so I've seen them firsthand— Rangers FC (@RangersFC) January 14, 2016
AH: first and foremost the boys who've come in are very good players. I want the best players here so we can achieve our goals— Rangers FC (@RangersFC) January 14, 2016
AH: I welcome the competition but I won't be giving my place up easy.— Rangers FC (@RangersFC) January 14, 2016
Halliday certainly sounds impressed with the signings, as Windass and Crooks are set to link up with the Gers at the start of next season.
They are out of contract with League Two Accrington in the summer, and Rangers secured the duo on pre-contracts.
They are impressive players, and have been in excellent for in League Two this season, and the Gers have got their hands on two youngsters who are only going to improve in the coming years whilst at Ibrox.
Halliday has admitted that he has watched Crooks and Windass occasionally, having seen them last season when Kai Naismith - of former Rangers fame - was with Stanley.
He sounds impressed by their talent, but Halliday has made it clear he will not be giving up his starting place in Mark Warburton’s plans easily, with the competition only going to spur him on to play even better.
