The Argentine forward is back in training with the West Ham first-team.
West Ham United take on Newcastle United this weekend at St James' Park hoping to keep up their exceptional recent form. They have won their last four games in all competitions and sit fifth in the Premier League table as a consequence of that top form.
They have been doing so without several first-team players as well - as injury continues to damage their hopes.
Three of those players however returned to training this week.
Victor Moses has not featured since December but he was back in action in the session. Midfield general Cheikhou Kouyate has not played since the 2-0 win against Liverpool on the 2nd January. Meanwhile Argentine attacker Mauro Zarate has not yet featured this season after coming off v Southampton on the 28th December.
All three seemed in good spirits ahead of a potential return to action.
West Ham are however still without Manuel Lanzini and another injured player as Andy Carroll suffered another issue.
Zarate is back in action but he has of course been linked with a move away from the club.
Marca reported this week that La Liga side Malaga are hopeful of raising funds to sign the player this month.
But for now he remains a West Ham player and it looks like he is on the verge of a comeback.
