Aston Villa will face Leicester City at home in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Paul Merson has predicted on that Aston Villa will lose to Leicester City at home this weekend.

The Villans will face Leicester at Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Former Villa attacker Merson has backed the Foxes to pick up all three point from the encounter courtesy of a 2-1 win.

“This should be a very entertaining game as Villa need to have a go, while Leicester always have a good go,” the former England international has written on

“I think Leicester win this with Jamie Vardy getting back in the goals but I'm hoping Villa can pull something off and make it back-to-back wins.”

Former Villa assistant manager Ray Wilkins also believes that Leicester will win and said on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Thursday morning (January 14): "I can’t see past a Leicester win, unfortunately."

Villa will head into the game against Leicester on the back of a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Villa Park.

The win will have boosted the confidence of the Villa players, who will be determined to pick up all three points on Saturday evening.

Remi Garde’s side are at the foot of the Premier League table at the moment with just 11 points from 21 matches.

Meanwhile, Leicester currently find themselves second in the standings with 43 points from 21 games, level on points with leaders Arsenal but behind on goal difference.

The Foxes returned to winning ways on Wednesday evening as they got the better of Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 away from home at White Hart Lane in North London.
