He said: “When you look around at what is available in the market this month, Adebayor on a free transfer until the end of the season is a no-brainer. Swansea, Norwich, Sunderland, Newcastle, Aston Villa or anyone struggling at the lower end of the table should be looking at him.”
Adebayor is on the market and looking for a Premier League club to sign him, as he wants to move back to England.
However, a big club is unlikely to take a chance on him, and so a move is more likely to occur to a team fighting relegation, who need to add a source of goals to their team.
Adebayor, 31, has a reputation as a player who excels when trying to impress, and on a short-term deal until the end of the season, he could be a fantastic acquisition. You would get full effort from a player with a proven Premier League record, and he could be the difference between relegation or Premier League survival.
Redknapp imagines that a number of teams should be looking to bring him in, naming Swansea, Norwich, Sunderland, Newcastle and Aston Villa as clubs who would benefit with Adebayor in their ranks,
It is hard to disagree with Redknapp’s claim, as Adebayor is a proven top flight goalscorer, and it remains to be seen if any teams look to move for the Togolese forward this month.
