Plenty of Premier League teams have been earmarked as potential suitors for Olympique Lyonnais's star striker Alexandre Lazazette.
The powerful and pacy forward has scored nine goals in 26 appearances for the club this season - a fairly modest total.
Last season however he scored a whopping 29 times in 37 appearances and that is why the likes of Newcastle United are keen.
The Toon have great connections in the French market but this looks an unlikely move considering Lacazette's desire to play in the Champions League.
However talkSPORT reported this week that Newcastle had not given up home of an £18 million move for the player.
Now, in an interview with The Telegraph, the French international has confirmed that he has spoken to Newcastle's most recent French recruit about the Premier League.
But he also spoke to Arsenal's Francis Coquelin:
Arsenal were linked with the player in September by The Mirror and would offer him the atmosphere and playing standard he desires.
With that in mind Newcastle will always be punching in their pursuit of Lacazette.
The Frenchman also confirmed in the interview that he will not be on the move this month as he wishes to see out the season with Lyon.
Come the summer expect to see him in the Premier League - but probably not with Newcastle United.
