“All the top 10 have the chance to win the league,” the Spurs boss said. “It’s very open. You can’t guess. (There are) a lot of games ahead still to play. All can happen.”
Tottenham lost 1-0 to Leicester City on Wednesday evening to lose ground in the race for the title. But despite that setback there is still a considerable amount of football to be played and there are sure to be twists and turns aplenty before May.
Pochettino has built a wonderful squad and his faith in youth has been repaid with the likes of Dele Alli and Eric Dier excelling week in, week out, but is he right to suggest that any of the top 10 can go on to Premier League glory in four short months?
As things stand there are 14 points separating Watford in 10th place with current leaders Arsenal, and even the staunchest Hornets fan would be hard-pressed to make a case for a title push this season.
But there is certainly a case to suggest any of the top six could ultimately be crowned champions.
Only time will tell, but Pochettino is right in that this is the most unpredictable and exciting title race we have ever seen…
