Three Tottenham players who should be dropped ahead of Sunderland clash

White Hart Lane

Tottenham need to make changes after their defeat to Leicester.

Tottenham Hotspur slipped to a disappointing loss against Leicester City, and head coach Mauricio Pochettino should ring the changes ahead of their next match.

They face a tricky Sunderland team full of confidence led by Jermain Defoe, after they won 4-2 against Swansea City last night.

Here are four players Pochettino should drop for the fixture...

Ben Davies

Danny Rose was captain at the weekend, and then left on the bench for the Premier League game. Rose has been the better defender this season, and Spurs need to play their strongest side, and the 25-year-old left-back should be brought back into the team at the expense of Ben Davies. Tottenham have lost three games this season in the league, but Rose has only played in one of them.

Christian Eriksen

The Dane has been underwhelming in recent weeks and has looked low on confidence. Meanwhile expensive summer signing Heung-Min Son remains stuck on the bench, and he is the one who should be brought back in in Eriksen's place. It will do Eriksen good to be out of the side temporarily, and he would be a nice option to bring off the bench if needed.

Tom Carroll

The young midfielder has been enjoying a nice run in the side in recent weeks, but Tottenham need Mousa Dembele back. The Belgian came off the bench late against Leicester, and it is time for him to return to the starting XI after a short spell out injured.
