Is Sunderland attacker Jeremain Lens beginning to turn around his career at the club?
A cynic may suggest it is because the transfer window is open and he is playing for a move, but to take it for what it is, manager Sam Allardyce is showing more trust in him and using him centrally.
Lens helped inspire the club's important 4-2 away win against Swansea City, leapfrogging the Welsh side in the Premier League table.
He came close to scoring himself, denied only by the woodwork, and was confident running at opposition defenders in an attempt to create space.
The 28-year-old netted in the FA Cup defeat to Arsenal at the weekend, and seems to be coming into a bit of form at last.
Last night was his 10th appearance for the club, and if Sunderland can keep him, and keep him playing like this, then he will be a real asset in their attempt to avoid relegation.
Here is a look at how fans reacted on Twitter to his performance...
That touch and through ball from Lens was so nonchalant, that's what he has in his locker when he fancies it, class #safc— Alan Smith (@al_smith11) January 13, 2016
Buzzing lens had another good game! Such a creative player for us we need to have him playing like that every game! #SAFC— connor nixon (@connor_nixon10) January 13, 2016
Could be important switch to move Lens centrally. Means he has cover behind him and involved in game more. Looking more the part #SAFC— Richard (@eff_tee_emm) January 13, 2016
Lens now showing the type of qualities we thought we were getting #Safc— Lee Barker (@LBarks72) January 13, 2016
I have said repeatedly, Lens should be playing every game and today once again backed up why. Absolutely class! #SAFC— CALLUM (@cfutter13) January 13, 2016
