Sheffield Wednesday supporters have had a mixed reaction to the news that Atdhe Nuhiu has signed a new contract at Hillsborough.
Nuhiu has penned a deal which will keep him with the Owls until 2018, with Carlos Carvalhal a known admirer of the target man.
Nuhiu has been with Wednesday since 2013, and during that time he has become one of the most divisive players at Hillsborough.
The 26-year-old is valued by some Wednesday supporters, who feel that his physical presence makes him a good outlet for the side.
However, other sections of the Owls fan base argue that he is immobile and doesn’t score enough.
Nuhiu has only netted four goals in 28 matches this season, but he did finish as Wednesday’s top scorer last term.
Rather predictably, Nuhiu’s decision to extend his stay with the Yorkshire side has been met with different reactions on social media site Twitter. Here are some of the best posts.
@swfc Just not good enough for us. Forestieri has scored half the goals in half a season. Need a better striker IMO— stressfuhl nH (@Matt_Brown1405) January 14, 2016
@swfc has been key in many games this season. Good news— daniel barrass (@danielbarrass2) January 14, 2016
@swfc good brings more to the team than he gets credit for— ian schofield (@ianscho70) January 14, 2016
@swfc I'm happy with that, needs to improve his consistency but offers something different when on form.— Steven Briggs (@Briggsy1867) January 14, 2016
@swfc great decision. Game changed in Tuesday when he went off. People need to realise he offers more to the team than just goals— Tim Wild (@wildy79) January 14, 2016
