Sasso is looking forward to a repeat of the atmosphere from when the two sides met at Elland Road in August.
Ahead of this weekend's Yorkshire derby with Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday defender Vincent Sasso has admitted that he was amazed by the atmosphere that was created when the Owls travelled to Elland Road in August, the Sheffield Star reports.
Sasso - who is on loan from Braga - was making just his second Championship appearance when the two sides met earlier in the campaign, and he explained ahead of the rematch, that he expects the supporters to recreate the buzz that greeted the two sides in their last contest because of how important the game is.
"I played the whole game against Leeds and the atmosphere was amazing. I hope we will win this game because this is a derby and is really important for the club and supporters. I hope the fans will be massive but we already know they will be there to push the team and its going to be great," he told the Star.
The two clubs could not be separated when they met in August, as Chris Wood's second-half goal cancelled out a moment of absolute brilliance from Wednesday forward Marco Matias. The Portuguese flicked the ball over Liam Cooper's head before firing a blistering effort into Marco Silvestri's net, leaving the Italian no chance.
And with Wednesday now just outside the play-off places, Carlos Carvalhal will be hoping that Steve Evans' men do not come to Hillsborough this Saturday and produce their own moment of magic that silences the home fans like Matias did that day.
