Southampton beat Watford 2-0 at St. Mary's yesterday evening.
Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has expressed his delight on Twitter, after watching his side pick up a vital victory over Watford yesterday.
The Saints had been off form going into the contest, but they showed their quality at St. Mary’s last night.
Southampton looked comfortable against Quique Sanchez Flores’ men, and scored through Shane Long and Dusan Tadic, much to the delight of Koeman.
Watford have been one of the Premier League’s surprise packages this season, and they currently occupy a place in the top half of the table.
They could not cope against Southampton, though, and the scoreline could have been even greater had Koeman’s side showed greater ruthlessness.
Southampton will hope that this win can prove the turning point in their campaign, which has been slightly disappointing so far.
Koeman’s side are currently in 12th place in the top flight, and their victory over Watford was only their second win in their last 11 matches in all competitions.
