Report: Mame Biram Diouf wanted by Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg

The Stoke City forward is wanted back in Germany.

Stoke City are flying high in the Premier League at the minute. The Potters are seventh in the table after some incredible performances with the likes of Marko Arnautovic, Bojan Krkic and Jonathan Walters leading the attacking charge.

Of course there has been other more supporting roles - including that of Mame Biram Diouf.

The Senegalese striker started the season exceptionally well, scoring three times before October but has not hit the back of the net since and finds himself in and out of the starting XI.

With that in mind it looks like Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg are ready to make a move for the player.

Kicker is reporting that Diouf has emerged as a number one strike target as Bas Dost is injured and the club need striking reinforcements as former Arsenal player Nicklas Bendtner is set to leave the club.

Wolfsburg wanted to snap up Diouf in the summer of 2014 when he left Hannover but he instead headed to the Britannia Stadium but they now feel they can get their hands on the player.
