Emmanuel Adebayor has been without a club all season, but Crystal Palace are reportedly keen to sign him on a short-term deal.
According to a report in the Daily Mirror, Emmanuel Adebayor could be a Crystal Palace player by Saturday.
Palace have been searching for a new striker for the entirety of the January transfer window, but their attempts to find a number nine have proved fruitless so far.
The Eagles have been knocked back after making offers for a series of front men, but they are reportedly confident of tying up a deal for Adebayor in the near future.
The 31-year-old is seen by Alan Pardew as a short-term solution to his current striking problem at Selhurst Park.
Palace have failed to find a prolific striker this term, with Connor Wickham their only centre-forward to have netted in the Premier League.
Wickham’s solitary goal came from the penalty spot, while the likes of Dwight Gayle and Frazier Campbell are yet to get off the mark.
If Adebayor is a Palace player by the weekend, he could make his debut for Pardew’s side against Manchester City on Saturday.
