Report: Derby County enter race for Claudio Beauvue

Derby County, Bristol City and Aston Villa have been linked with Claudio Beauvue.

Derby County want to sign Claudio Beauvue, the Guardian reports.

The Lyon forward has been transfer listed by the Ligue 1 club, and is up for sale for a reported £5.5 million feel as the report states.

Derby are the latest team to line up a move for him, with Championship rivals Bristol City and Premier League strugglers Aston Villa also linked with the 27-year-old in the report.

There is no indication which club Beauvue would prefer to join, but Derby’s situation is undoubtedly the best of all three clubs. They look set for promotion to the Premier League, whilst Bristol City are fighting relegation to League One, and Villa are likely to be swapping places with the Rams at the end of this campaign.

Who is Claudio Beauvue?

Beauvue, 27, is a centre-forward who currently plays for Lyon of France’s Ligue 1. He only linked up with the club over the summer, signing from Guingamp, and has netted eight goals in 29 games across all competitions.

Also able to play on the wing, his goal record is impressive, but Lyon are ready to sell him this month.

A Guadeloupian international, Beauvue has played twice for his country, and looks a solid signing for a team in the Championship who wish to add more goals to their team.
