To be played on Sunday 17th January 2016 at 14:05. Venue: Anfield, Liverpool
Odds: Liverpool 13/10, Draw 23/10, Man Utd 21/10
Liverpool welcome Manchester United to Anfield on Sunday with both sides coming into the match on the back of 3-3 draws.
Louis van Gaal’s side let 2-0 and 3-2 leads slip against Newcastle United earlier this week to ultimately draw in a six-goal thriller while Jurgen Klopp’s men showed their resilience to net a last-gasp equaliser against Arsenal 24 hours later.
With that in mind, the upcoming clash between the two famous foes could be an absolute humdinger, with United finally showing the kind of attacking intent their fans have been crying out for and Liverpool refusing to lay down now Klopp is at the helm.
In early team news, Liverpool are without Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren, Joe Gomez, Jon Flanagan, Philippe Coutinho, Danny Ings and Divock Origi, while Daniel Sturridge has only a 25 per cent chance of recovering from a hamstring injury.
As for United, they must do without Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Nick Powell, while Phil Jones has a good chance of recovering from a foot problem.
With all that in mind, here is how we expect the two sides to line up this weekend:
- Simon Mignolet
- Steven Caulker
- Nathaniel Clyne
- Alberto Moreno
- Mamadou Sakho
- Emre Can
- Jordan Henderson
- Jordon Ibe
- Adam Lallana
- James Milner
- Roberto Firmino
- David de Gea
- Matteo Darmian
- Chris Smalling
- Daley Blind
- Ander Herrera
- Juan Mata
- Morgan Schneiderlin
- Ashley Young
- Memphis Depay
- Anthony Martial
- Wayne Rooney
