Arsenal have wrapped up the signing of Mohamed Elneny, the club confirmed on their official website on Thursday.
Elneny is a defensive midfielder, but has also netted six goals already this season, and could prove to be a tremendous asset for the club.
Even better, he is familiar with Premier League opposition, helping Basel to wins against Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea in recent seasons.
Perhaps the stand out image from these clashes is this one below which will amuse Arsenal fans.
Elneny stands over an injured Gareth Bale of Tottenham Hotspur protesting his innocence, with then coach Andre-Villas Boas looking on at him angrily.
Elneny can also be seen holding off Chelsea's Oscar as the two clubs do battle in 2013.
Another image sees him getting to grips with Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli during a Champions League game last season.
His experience in such games means he is unlikely to be daunted at joining the club's title battle, and could even be relied upon to face Barcelona in the Champions League, and has a month or so to go on and state his case to be selected.
