Sunderland beat Swansea City 4-2 at the Liberty Stadium last night.
Marco Gabbiadini has tweeted in support of his former club, Sunderland, after they beat Swansea City yesterday.
Sunderland won 4-2 at the Liberty Stadium to move to within one point of safety.
And Gabbiadini was delighted with the fighting spirit that the Black Cats showed during the contest.
Said it before @SunderlandAFC, this team will not roll over!— Marco Gabbiadini (@marco_ten) January 13, 2016
Sunderland have now won their last two matches, and their chances of survival are looking far greater.
Although they are still stuck in the relegation zone, they have managed to move up to 18th place in the Premier League table.
Sam Allardyce’s side’s victory in Wales owed much to their battling qualities, as the match was a highly unpredictable one.
Sunderland took the lead through Jermain Defoe, but a Gylfi Sigurdsson penalty levelled the scores.
Swansea then had Kyle Naughton harshly sent off, but their numerical disadvantage did not stop them taking the lead, when Andre Ayew netted with a fantastic solo strike.
That left Sunderland facing an uphill challenge, but they responded well to their task and two further goals from Defoe and a thunderous strike from Patrick van Aanholt secured them an important three points.
