Manchester United transfer news: Dragovic set for £16m move; Ercolani deal reportedly done

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

According to a report from Sport Mediaset, Manchester United are set to complete a £16million deal to sign Dynamo Kiev defender Aleksandar Dragovic this week.

United have had plenty of injury problems at the back this season, and while they were keeping most teams at bay earlier in the campaign they have looked far more porous in recent weeks, culminating in their 3-3 draw with Newcastle United on Tuesday.

Dragovic is a 24-year-old Austrian international who has featured 99 times for Kiev to date, scoring two goals and providing one assist in the process.

In other news, young Italian defender Luca Ercolani has seemingly suggested that he is on his way to United after posting a picture of him in the club’s training top on Instagram along with his destination of Carrington, Manchester.

That follows a report from website Romagna claiming a deal for the 16-year-old has been agreed.

The problem if these stories are true is that United desperately need reinforcements at the opposite end of the field, but it remains to be seen if manager Louis van Gaal will be given another huge cheque to bring them to the club given his on-field struggles to date.
