The 17-year-old will not feature for Leeds United against Manchester City in the academy competition.
While Leeds United’s senior stars look ahead to their next Championship match against Sheffield Wednesday this weekend, some of the club’s next generation have a huge game of their own this evening.
Leeds take on Manchester City in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup and the Whites will know they will have to be at their very best to overcome a Blues side that possesses some of the most exciting young players in England.
That said, Leeds have their fair share of stars in the making, although one player who will not be involved tonight is defender Jack Vann.
The 17-year-old is predominantly a centre-back although he can also operate on the right if required but Leeds will have to do without him after he confirmed he would not be involved in a Twitter post on Wednesday.
“Gutted I can’t play in the Youth Cup tomorrow night,” Vann wrote. “Support the lads at Elland Road; good luck to the boys.”
Vann has featured regularly for Leeds’ under-21s this season and while there has been no official confirmation from the club as to why he will not be involved the most likely scenario is that he has picked up an injury.
