HITC Sport understands Crewe have agreed deal for former Leicester and Tranmere defender.
Crewe Alexandra are set to sign former Leicester defender Zoumana Bakayogo on a short-term deal as they look to bolster their squad.
Bakayogo is a free agent after leaving Leicester in the summer after an injury-hit spell over the last couple of seasons.
The Frenchman came to the fore at Tranmere making over 150 appearances for the club between 2009 and 2013 earning him the move to Leicester City in the summer of 2013.
The 29-year-old made just two appearances for the Foxes after joining in 2013 having struggled with knee injuries and played just once for Yeovil during a one month loan spell in January 2014 after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament just 37 minutes into his debut.
The former Paris Saint Germain man has been working his way back to fitness and Bakayogo linked up with Crewe for training in the summer.
Now Bakayogo has proven his full fitness Crewe have handed him a deal at Gresty Road to help solve their left-back problems.
Crewe are currently rock bottom of League One six points adrift of safety and Alex boss Steve Davis has moved for Bakayogo to try and increase his side's defensive options.
