West Bromwich albion have reportedly made a bid for a free-scoring defensive midfielder who has six caps for Senegal.
According to Wednesday’s print edition of French newspaper L’Equipe, West Bromwich Albion have made a €10million bid for Angers midfielder Cheikh N’Doye.
That equates to around £7.5million for a 29-year-old who is the current captain of the French side and who has made 18 appearances this season, scoring an impressive six goals and providing one assist in the process.
N’Doye only signed for Angers last summer after 80 appearances for US Creteil Lusitanos but he is already integral to the Ligue 1 club.
With a contract until the summer of 2017 his short-term future is committed to Angers. However a sizeable bid for a player approaching his 30th birthday would certainly be intriguing for a side currently second in the French top flight.
That is testament to N’Doye’s importance to the team but with West Brom looking to strengthen this month it seems they have wasted little time making a splash.
West Brom are currently 12th in the Premier League with their next match taking place this evening against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
