According to a recent report in the Mirror, Everton forward Steven Naismith has stalled on a January transfer window move to Norwich City.
The British newspaper claims that the Toffees ace has been heavily linked with a move to Carrow Road but rather than moving now he will now wait until the summer to resolve his future.
“Steven Naismith is set to snub a move to Norwich," the report reads. "The Everton forward has been a target for the Premier League strugglers but Naismith, 29, has stalled on the switch and could now wait until the summer to see if he gets any other offers."
The Scotland international has barely featured for Everton this season, sparking speculation of a January exit with Norwich keen to sign him in order to boost their own attacking options.
Toffees boss Roberto Martinez was reportedly hopeful of using the added funds from a Naismith sale to put towards new signings, yet his decision to remain on Merseyside could pose a problem.
Norwich are currently occupying a spot just above the relegation zone and are in real need of strengthening their attack if they harbour hopes of staying up this season.
Following the sale of Lewis Grabban to Bournemouth, boss Alex Neil has funds to spend at Carrow Road but missing out on first Benik Afobe and now Naismith will be a major disappointment.
Naismith, 29, has made just four Premier League starts this season, scoring three goals.
