The defender was secured on loan from QPR on Tuesday.
The defender completed a surprise move to Liverpool on Tuesday, cutting short a loan spell with Southampton to move to Anfield until the end of the season.
He has been brought in on loan until the end of the season, with Jurgen Klopp in desperate need of defensive recruits after a series of injuries left him short of numbers at the back.
And he has revealed just what the German told him upon his arrival at the club.
“The manager has been very positive,” he told liverpoolfc.com.
“He’s welcomed me and said that there has obviously been a few injuries and so there was an opportunity for me to come here and play.
“He said if I come here and do well then who knows what the future holds? It’s an exciting one for me and I am just raring to go now.”
It will now be interesting to see if the Reds pursue a permanent deal for Caulker should he impress during his loan spell.
He certainly has the opportunity to do just that, with their current options in central defence having failed to impress so far this season under both Klopp and Brendan Rodgers.
They have already conceded 25 goals in 20 games in this campaign, an average of 1.2 per game, with it being a particular weak spot over recent weeks.
If Caulker can come in and help to improve that record in the second half of the season, there is every chance he could find himself a permanent move in the summer.
