Preston North End are negotiating a deal for Manchester United youngster Liam Grimshaw, reports the Daily Mail.
The 20-year-old has been on loan at Motherwell this season, making 16 appearances since joining last September.
The young midfielder came through the youth ranks at Old Trafford, but is yet to make a Premier League appearance for the side and will now be looking at continuing his development in the Championship instead.
He will become the club’s third signing of the January transfer window, with manager Simon Grayson also having completed a permanent move for fellow Manchester United youngster Ben Pearson earlier in the window.
Indeed, Grimshaw will be among familiar faces at Deepdale as goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is also currently on loan from the Red Devils.
They have also secured Aston Villa’s Callum Robinson on loan until the end of the season, as Grayson looks to bolster his squad and continue what has been a solid return to the Championship this season.
